Heavier Buffers & M16 Bolt Carriers?
With standard semi auto ARs, why are some of you adding heavier buffers and M16 bolt carriers?
Reduced recoil? (Um, have you shot your AR? It's very light recoil.) Sorry, I don't get it. Hardwarz

If I recall correctly the greater mass, keeps the bolt locked for longer, and this not only lessens the recoil, but the pounding forces on the guns internals. I always thought that if its not broke, dont fix it, but to each his own.
(The bolt, being locked longer, could also allow the pressure to drop a bit more, before opening up the bolt.) DaFUnk |

1. The system was originally designed for the M16 carrier, so why not?
2. The H buffer slows down the weapon's cycling which can increase reliability. The H buffer isnt mandatory initialy. However, over time as the gas port erodes, it can help restore proper balance.
