Noveske Flash hider
can someone please give me a little info on the Noveske Flash hiders
i like the look of them, but am unfamiliar with the legality, in my understanding all AR15s come with a flash hider correct? so this would be perfectly legal? just swap one for the other right? also, which threading should i go with and how can i tell the difference? and the last question, are the flash hiders threaded normal, or reverse? i have never taken one off and thought i had read somewhere that some are reverse.... ![]() ![]() this is what mine has on it currently, as im sure most AR's do...

I'm getting a Noveske as soon as my Kitty Kat upper comes in for my SBR, which I'm told will be mid-October. If your current gun has a removable A2 flashhider like in your lower phot, then the Noveske should be perfectly legal for you. It's not a suppressor - it just directs a lot of the noise and flash downrange.
2 thread patterns are available according to their site - your AR will want 1/2 x 28 TPI. I have no clue if it's left or right but it will match whatever your A2 hider is threaded. ETA - no, not all ARs come with a flash hider. The key is your state and local restrictions - some states still care whether or not your gun is pre/post ban. If you can legally buy an AR in "pre-ban" configuration (flash hider, bayonet lug, folding stock) in your state, then it's perfectly legal for you to switch your birdcage hider for the Noveske.

Yeah, what state are you in?
In NY state a flash hider that's threaded on is on the list of "2 or more of the following" make it illegal if it's a post ban gun. A fixed muzzle break is fine though.

The Noveske "flaming pig" is meant for SBR's
edited to add: as hardwarz says, it is designed to throw the concussion blast forward instead of up and out the sides, more "friendly" to your team members in house clearings and CQB

I know it probably doesn't help much, but it's worthwhile bookmarking.

And then decide whether you want to wait for the flashhider or settle for the SPR/M4 mount.
