That's good.

At least he didn't ask you how much it's worth, but like other's have said it should've probably been avoided.

Chances are the guy that bolted out the door isn't likely to rob you, but you never know what someone else might do if they hear about it.

Strangers in the home with valuables out in the open is something I try to avoid.

But all in all I'm willing to bet the serviceman would beat the snot out of any of his coworkers that mentions anything about stealing it.

According to this, Dayton is higher than Cleveland and also higher than Philly.

Kind of suprises me.

I always keep my crap locked up and out of eyesight when strangers or mere acquaintances are around. Always.
If it was anyone else, such as another tenant etc, I would have put them away indeed. However, these delivery guys didnt strike me as the type. Especially with one being a war vet, and the other being scared sh!tless at the mere site of several weapons.

You overestimate the decency of the human race. You should have put them away before hand. A stranger should only see your weapons if he is at the end of the barrel.

For everyone who posted "I should have put them away", where does it end? If you use that argument, you could use it for everything in your house. In using this logic, I should have put away my stereo, speakers, plasma TV, dvd player, laptop, desktop, my fine china, and every other item a criminal might find delectable. Sorry, but I'm not gonna do that every time the plumber or cable guy has to enter my residence. If I would have put them away, all the above mentioned items of value would have all still been on display, so whats the difference?

you make a valid point and what you do with your stuff is your biz. Personally, I think guns belong in a different catagory than common valubles. All that stuff you mention can be found in most homes, firearms on the otherhand aren't that easy to come by.

Guns are like ATM's... instant cash on the street

Like mudfoot said, you can't trust people just because they are a war vet, religious or whatever.

Personally I don't trust anyone until I get to know them.

Well the most obvious difference, in my opinion, is that if a stolen stereo or TV set gets traced back to you for some reason, you might even be able to claim your stolen items back.

If a gun gets traced back to you before you could report it, you might need some really good legal defense.
