I just ordered a RRA last week. It should be here tomorrow. The dealer I spoke with also carries LMT and Stag. I asked him what his opinions were of what he carries. He said that of all 3, he sends far fewer RRA's back to the factory for work to be done. He told me this is especially so for the LMT. This guy has a great rep and I have limited knowledge so I took his word for it. The RRA is cheaper than the LMT and I figure if he was jerking me around he would tell me that LMT is the best so he can make more money.

That "could" be the result of a mix of milspec and non-milspec stock parts. It happens.

My RRA has been great, I have had it over a year and it has been one sweet ass rifle..

It will get a test in Nov when my Dad visits and shoots a carbine match with us using the same rifle.

If they're suppose to be truly MILSPEC....aren't they all suppose to be roughly the same?? That's kinda bugged me a little bit...

OK this has been beaten to death, but there are VERY few civilian available "MILSPEC" weapons. The AR's we typically buy are not true "MILSPEC" for a few reasons, but the reason these manufacturers say they use "MILSPEC" parts is because they do, parts that is. The entire rifle is not so don't drink the Cool-aid.

Things will break and that is a fact of life with any machine. RRA has a good rep now, but ya never know... they are growing fast and things slip when that happens. STAG has the same potential issue and I'd bet that LMT is having that issue right now. They are all going to have issues at some point. So don't just buy into things like "MILSPEC" ect.. and there are absolutely some vendors who will be honest about which brands have needed to get serviced a bit more, but ask them then about the cyclic nature of those returns. If they've been seeing them go through it periodically then there is a bigger issue, if there was a few month run, then most likely they've corrected the production issue.

My AR15 / M4A3 will either be an RRA or a Bushmaster. No exceptions.

I think you'd be closing yourself off to some other very good vendors in the same pricing and quality ranges. STAG comes to mind, Bravo Company as well.
