Right before I ordered my PMAGs.
I dropped an empty mag and it dinged the side. Next time I loaded it and began to fire that ding stopped the follower about halfway up after about 16 rounds fired. Don't get me wrong, I still have and will always have aluminum and SS mags around and will use them a lot, but once I tried the PMAGS, I was very impressed. I started out very skeptical and not wanting anything to do with a plastic mag in my AR, but decided to try one and was amazed at my change of heart. Spend the $15 and get just one and see what you think. If you don't like it, I'll buy it from you.

Go with the PMAG they're miles above the HKs. HK have a renowned name and shiny finish, but the PMAG is crush proof, completely reliable, sealable for protection from the elements, and much much cheaper.
If you want expensive get the HK. If you want reliable cost effectiveness get the PMAG.

Mine hit the ground all the time during training.. some times they break.. I don't want to even get into what happened to mags in the time I was in the military. The testing shows durability, that should be a bit more impressive even if you do baby the mags

I've got a couple of PMAGS, and I think they great. Also have some Sterling steel mags....no problems with those either. Have had some Thermold and Orlites but got rid of those. I buy used USGI mags when I can, last batch of 25 I got them for 5 bux a piece shipped. Can't beat that with a stick.

These days, depending on the drill I use the dump pouch, but more times than not I just dump and load.
