For you Bushy owners...
Anyone watch Personal Defense TV last night on Outdoor channel? I love that show. Anywho, one of the guys who is a trainer at Gunsite uses a bushy as his home defense rifle. Obviously this guy runs his rifle through the ringer and it is his choice in personal defense. Just thought I would post this to contradict what you sometimes read on other sites.

I own several Bushmaster carbines and am sold on them. I have one set up with a EOTech and a Surefire M500A that is my "go-to" weapon.

I also have a AR with a setup similar to the one above (verks) and I like it with no problems. However, it is not my go to weapon, mine is actually a similarly equipped CX4 storm. I have about 1000 rounds thru it, and have a small stockpile of 1600 left. 21 30rd mags from bushy, okay, and cproducts. I also have a nice spare parts supply. I want to pick up one more 5.56 AR (varmint) and a 308 AR (24" bull barrel) before the elections.
Mine. bushmaster A3 patrolman, added dave tubbs CS springs, Surefire M500AB, RRA dominator mount, EOtech 512, I want to swap out the stock/ grip, just not sure what I want to go with. Last edited by spoolup : 09-23-2007 at 07:12 AM. |

I don't know what would be worse for the BG, the gunshot wound or the 3rd degree sunburn from that surefire spotlight. Haha.

I actually have the M500B lamp housing on order, that way I will have 500 lumen for 20 or so minutes or 250 for a hour (currently have the MN16 bulb fr 225 lumen, The thing lights up the room NO problem. The girlfriend thinks Im nuts. But I actually like having a good bit of power in the lights. I buy the surefire brand 123's in bulk so they are pretty good priced.... about $1.00 each.
The collection consist of the M500AB, a M3T, 618FA for the 870P, a U2, on order is the M500B lamp housing. Soon to purchase is a Kroma mil-spec, M6, and a LED conversion for the 618. I also have 3 and 5 w cabelas, a few Krills, a few Mag lights in differnt configurations, TLR1s (one for the XD45c and another for the CX4 storm), and a few others I probally can not think about right now. The 500/ M3T, can easily light up the houses down the street with the higher output bulbs, if you are in the same room it simply lights the thing up, just holding the M3t upright and turning it up illuminates the living room just fine. But I agree, I would hate to have that thing go off in the eyes. it reminds me of this picture borrowed from the motivational poster thread... ![]() |

Oh, yeah. Good stuff. I like lots of light outdoors. When I was guiding I had a 500B on my Bushy M4orgery and a Trijicon ACOG carry handle mount with trijicon front sight, too. The 500 lumens would illuminate 300 yards x 300 yards... all the across the river fron my front steps. I lit up a few critters with it... funny how they stop cold... then bugger off.
