i was thinking of getting the RRA A4 kit, but I might just try to piece it together, and try to save $100 or so. I am going to be checking out ar15.com. i think that is the site that has an exchange. if you get any tips on some good discounts or used parts please post them.

Another question...
I found a kit from Del-Ton for $465. I don't want to get into company wars, but I would like to know since I am wanting an entry lever AR if anyone has an opinion on this kit?
It doesn't have a two stage trigger like the RRA (which I don't know what that means since I have never fired an AR) Also there are options for the Gas Block. From what I understand this controls the pressure (or how the gas gets back to cycle the gun). What difference does this make? Thanks for the help. I am a total novice, but am reading and trying to get up to speed.

I've owned both chromemoly and chrome-lined, and wouldn't have a problem with another chromemoly for a target gun/PD greaser. I HAVE had a round hang-up in a chamber in a CM barrel, and once I poked it back out, it was fouled with rust. It just happened to be a very hot week, and I thought I cleaned and relubed it good enough, but there you are.
For $40 more, I'd only go CL on a defense gun. |
