I'll bring the first aid kit and line up the EMT..

one of the guns i would grab if i had to leave my house is my 22lr's pistol and rifle. i can carry 1000's of rounds even if i have to put 10 into a person. its mildly deadly and its very light and very cheap

I want to see how long that liability waiver is on that agreement.

I like .22LR. Cheap and you can keep people at bay if need be. But once again, it depends on the situation. If you live in the middle of the woods and all the bears have rabies.... .22 LR won't help.

Situation dictates weapon build/choice.

An AR ain't gonna do too much either, but I guess it's better than a .22

I believe in the KISS principle.

My preferred AR for SHTF would be (is) a basic CAR type AR. Either a A1 or A2 upper with a 16" light weight barrel, basic handguards, basic telestock. Only accessory would be a sling. Light, handy, easy to carry, lots of firepower.

That's kinda what I was trying to get to in my original post, that's a good generalized SHTF configuration... results may vary by need

Snore . . .

I been reading "SHTF" posts now for about 15 yrs. Just exactly what sort of sh*t are we talking about? What sort of fan?

I think this "concept" is something born of beer guzzling adolescents, between pizza and PPV cage fighting specials.

You're gonna get out in the woods with your Jeep and ATV, discover you can't get a lattee, or an RV hookup, and you're gonna die.

I agree with you to a point.

But New Orleans and the gulf coast during Katrina woke me up.

When the SHTF just make sure your first reaction is not SH!T hits your shorts (SHYS) and you will probably be alright!

Unless your BOB and SHTF Kit have an ample supply of Clean Your Pants Paper (CYPP)
