Ok, cool, 'cause honestly I've been going crazy trying to read up on what parts are "good" and what to avoid and... it's not working

I appreciate everyone's honest, for the most part, unbiased responses. No bashing here. This is why I like this site so much over others as everyone is for the most part respectable of the gun you choose. I don't even have an XD anymore and I am here daily b/c of the people who are here.

My current upper has a properly staked gas key, my castle nuts have remained tight, my feedramps are fine and its digested everything ive put through it to include good ammo and crap ammo. I can honestly say it has never jammed, missfired or anything else.

May I ask what Pete is asking for for his RRA uppers?

Got my Stag Model 2 from GandRTactical.
www.gandrtactical.com http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=4691 $830 + $20 shipping + whatever a local FFL is charging for the transfer. Grant takes care of properly staking the carrier key, installing a black extractor insert and a Crane O-Ring. Then test firing the weapon before sending it off. He's easy to work with, a wealth of knowledge and has good prices. Stag is made by CMT Continental Machine Tool Company. Which has been making components for Colt and Rock River Arms for quite a few years now, before getting into the business of selling uppers, lower and complete rifles by forming Stag Arms in 2003.

His website does not currently have any prices on it, but rather just says to call.
Here's his website for contact and other info: http://ar15sales.com/index.htm

He quoted me $450 for the RRA CAR-A4 with chrome lined barrel I believe. I was going to verify the CLB before ordering if that is the one I pick. But $450 is the MSRP on the chrome-moly so I would imagine the $450 from Pete is for the chrome lined due to his lower pricing.

Has anyone ever heard of or bought anything from riflegear.com? They have a real good price on a Stag 2H as well.

Can't speak the RRA parts, but I have a Stag 2L (lefty) complete rifle and have found it to be rock solid. Goes bang every time I pull the trigger and all of the parts fit tightly.
