Then using the same reasoning you use for the Glock, Bushmaster would be the "best mass produced AR."......right?....and the Colt would be the "best quality produced AR."

Yup. Many Glock fans like to talk about 70% LEO domination, but thats mainly due to Glock low-balling all other manufacturers. Glocks are great guns, however, Id take an M&P over a Glock.

I know I should stay out of this but................

I own several AR's and prior to my retirement I had several AR's issued to me by my department. My personally owned AR's are all DPMS, my department issued AR's were all Colt's.

The Colt's work very well and I had no real problems with them. Reasonably accuracte and good reliability. My favorite was a select fire lightweight CAR which I put probably close to 20,000 rounds thru.

My DPMS AR's have been used for competition and, since my retirement, when I teach classes. Of my two lowers and 5 uppers I have shot probably 50,000 rounds thru them wearing out a couple of different barrels. I get 100% reliability out of them and accuracy is at or below 1" at 100 yards when using quality ammo. If I was to go out and buy another one it would be a DPMS no questions asked.

Regarding Glock being the ultimate law enforcement pistol........The Glock was designed to be a service weapon and it fills that niche well. However there are several pistols that also do that well. The main reason Glock owns such a large portion of the LE market is cost. The agency price for Glock's is very low (we were buying them in the late 90's for just over $200 each). There are very few parts and the parts are cheap as well. They are simple to work on requiring little training for the agency armorer. Since there are basically no controls on the pistol officer training costs are very low as well. Bottom line of the Glock's LE market share is they are inexpensive in every measureable area.

On a personal side note, the lack of mechnical safeties requiring a separate action to enable the pistol to fire makes the Glock a very undesireable pistol for law enforcement in my mind. If an officer is disarmed all the bad guy has to is pick up the weapon and pull the trigger just like a revolver. What makes the pistol so perfect for training new officers also makes it the most likely pistol for the officer to be shot with if he is disarmed or loses control of the weapon. Sorry but I never agreed with the concept that saving money in training was a fair trade off for increasing the likelyhood of injury or death of your officers.
