No I don't think so. But if you want to test it against my Colt sometime I would love to shoot a match against you or attend a training and see whos gun goes down first. (friendly offer not trying to be a jerk) if you don't shoot three gun already you should try its a blast.

My Colt has been through 10000 rounds so far and is still going strong. It has ran great in training and while playing in three gun matches. It also rides in my patrol car with me for the real thing. It has been used and abused and keeps on ticking.

Shooting a match against you would prove nothing, You have more trigger time shooting in competition than I do. Besides the chances a failure in match is slim, Even an Oly could make it through a few 3 guns.
Do you realize that the LWRC is piston and not gas? It's a proven fact that piston AR are much more reliable check the HK416. But if your ever in AZ before I leave this hell hole. I'd love to shoot with ya for ****s and giggles. Might even learn a thing or two about a thing or two....

I do plan to attend a carbine class at TR next year...

BTW What the real thing? You live in Alaska, what's the worst that could happen, a hungry Polar Bear? (j/K)

Don't take this the wrong way but you are jumping ahead a bit. It is true that the HK 416 is doing very well. I would love to have one. But the RRA, Bushmaster and other new kid on the block Gas Piston designs are not proven yet. I know that Bushy has already had problems with parts breakadge issues with theres. The RRA is too knew to say for sure.

My Colt is a direct gas design obviously but it is reliable and I know its track record. I don't like being the first guy to try the newest gun out there. Its basically beta testing and you get to work through all the bugs.

Also a lot of guns choke in three gun matches. In the last one I was at I say a failure rate of 15% overall. Mostly due to the fact people in this match had obviously not bothered to shoot their rifles much before the match to make sure they worked right.

As for living in Alaska and the worst thing that could happen. Unfortunately our state is in the top 10 for having the worst crime rate in the nation. The first school shooting happened in Bethel Alaska my first department. So just remember no matter where you are trouble can find you and you have to be prepared to answer it. I work in a fairly slow town now but I have still been on 4 gun calls since I have gotten here where things could have gone badly but did not. We had a gunman popping off rounds towards people in one of the parks last month. Fortunately no one was hurt and we were able to talk the guy out without having to kill him.

I don't working LA but its not Mayberry either. I know you were kidding but my point is this we all need to be prepared for the real thing. Cops, Soldiers and just ordinary citizens. I know a few people who have had to kill people in the line of duty and none of them expected it would happen to them. I don't want it to happen to me. But if its my life,or the life of a citizen or loved one vs the life of a scumbag trying to kill us I will do my best to kill him first.

You can take a Glock and a XD and put them through the same test and both guns will get the same results. It has been done already and been published in various gun magazines. One reason Glock is so popular cause they were the first polymer gun and everyone else followed.

As far as AR's or really any guns are concerned just remember that govt. contracts, police Dept contracts, whatever go to the lowest bidder.

Also Colt AR's that are manufactured for the Military are not even made in the same factory as the LEO or civilian models. Also only those guns supplied to the military are MIL-SPEC the ones sold to LEO and Civilians are not MIL-SPEC. That is part of the contract agreement that the Govt has with Colt. So no your Colt is not Mil-Spec. Close but no cigar. I found this out when I was talking to a Rep on the phone from Colt when I was buying my dad a AR for Fathers Day. So don't believe the hype.

FYI Bushmaster is one of the suppliers for Blackwater. So it must not be that bad of a AR manufacture. Or a 3rd tier as some would say.

It's Kool-Aid folks, Drink it it's good when it's made with lots a sugar...
Actually the LEO colts are the same as the military models except for the fire control pin size (.170 vs .155) that and they fact they are semi auto and not full. Their barrels are still MP tested as are the bolts, they still have M4 feed ramps and the proper steel. Little things can mean a lot.

I like RRA they are nice people I own an RRA 9mm. But I prefer Colt's quality over all. My RRA broke on my first range session. (Bolt stop broke) RRA made it right and were a joy to work with. But my Colts have never let me down.

I never realized AK had such a high crime rate, That is one of the places on my wife list of places to take a travel assignment once she get's her Masters in Nursing. But yea crime is everywhere, i am from ATL Ga. I wont go to the check the mail at the end of the street without a firearm...I am fortunate to live is a small town in AZ where the only crimes we have are petty BS, Meth and the border jumpers.

Yea but they have their own police that patrol the reservation and their own laws that govern them on the reservation. Indians make up a small % of the DUI arrest, Most are Mexican nationals that don't even live here, Or have insurance. That is one of out big problems. One reason I stay home on the weekends, If I want to go to a bar the hippest one is within walking distance.
