The reason Glock dominates is cause of their questionable marketing towards LEO back in the early days. I had a first Gen Glock 17 that was a POS. It spent more time in Smyrna Ga than it did in my hands shooting.
Glock does make nice guns and they got decent quality control, But I fear the only reason so many dept. use them is cause of the steep discounts they offer to. I ask if Glock is so great how come the military still uses the Beretta? You can take a Glock and a XD and put them through the same test and both guns will get the same results. It has been done already and been published in various gun magazines. One reason Glock is so popular cause they were the first polymer gun and everyone else followed. As far as AR's or really any guns are concerned just remember that govt. contracts, police Dept contracts, whatever go to the lowest bidder. Also Colt AR's that are manufactured for the Military are not even made in the same factory as the LEO or civilian models. Also only those guns supplied to the military are MIL-SPEC the ones sold to LEO and Civilians are not MIL-SPEC. That is part of the contract agreement that the Govt has with Colt. So no your Colt is not Mil-Spec. Close but no cigar. I found this out when I was talking to a Rep on the phone from Colt when I was buying my dad a AR for Fathers Day. So don't believe the hype. FYI Bushmaster is one of the suppliers for Blackwater. So it must not be that bad of a AR manufacture. Or a 3rd tier as some would say. It's Kool-Aid folks, Drink it it's good when it's made with lots a sugar...

I've got the same and it's been nothing but perfect. No problems whatsoever. Flawless and beautiful. I paid $100 less than a bushy or RR and it still works just as good and a $100 cheaper.

So my front sight on my RRA is marked F...What does that have to do with the price of lead paint in china?
I also have a Wilson Chrome Lined barrel that is 1/7 twist. So what?

I don't give a rats a$$ what any of you Kool-Aid drinkers say. My RRA will take out just as many Zombies or gun grabbin liberals as the next gun.
However I am following Xdpackerfans lead and I am looking into a LWRC that looks like this, With the 16" barrel ![]() I got a house to wire on the side for a builder I used to work for. I gotta pay back the bank (wife) for the CZ I bought, But there should be enough left over, EDIT: And it will out do any freaking COLT out there...

Glocks dominate because they make a very simple pistol to operate (shoot well) and its as durable as hell is incredibly tolerant of abuse and neglect. It has a low bore axis that keeps muzzle flip down compared to HK's increasing the speed of follow up shots. It's trigger is good with quick reset and if you tune the trigger it can be great. Glocks also dominates in the shooting sports when compared to other DA autos. You don't see many HK's in IDPA or USPSA but you find a ton of Glocks. Glocks are the best system going in the mass produced non custom gun market. Glock markets well but that would not have taken this far. And if you want to talk about poor customer service try dealing with HK someome. They suck. Pat |
