Like badshot said... DPMS AR-10's have some really high reviews as being very accurate. AR-15 I went with RRA, you get a nice gun for the money there.

I use my DPMS as a spare, but have recently put that back in the gun to use as primary. As NIKON has said before, the DPMS BCG are not up to pare with anything from Colt/LMT and other top tier stuff. Now I just need to find out how far off my "5.56" chamber is.............. I like the gun and would probably buy another, but would shop around a little more next time.

I'm sorry Colt guys but from what I have seen of the new Colts (current production) they are loose pos that cost alot of $. Older Colts where good guns but lately they have been living on the past successes and there quality is crap.
That being said I have seen all brands w/ issues, but for my buck RRA is #1 in new production then Stag, CMMG, Bushmaster, DPMS, then Armalite. I would not even look at a New Colt. I believe all these companies can build great guns but some are going for mass not quality. Now this being said I am an IPSC shooter not LEO but all my guns need to run and shoot better than me. Flame suit on go for it....

Every manufacturer is going to have problems now and again or a bad review from somebody. As far as DPMS goes, I have known people that have given away their DPMS receivers for various reasons.

One of our officers just picked up a 6920 and it shoots as nice as my 7 year old one. I also shoot USPSA and what is considered good enough in the reliability department for a USPSA match is not good enough for LEO work. If a gun malfs in a match you lose the match or 0 the stage. But in life you die. Pat

Our club owns 2 DPMS AR's, 20" Clinton Era models (had the 10-round polymer mags until recently and no flash hider).
We have put 10's of thousands of rounds through them (we budget for about 8k rounds per year in factory/mil-surp ammo a year and that's divvied up between a mini-14, the 2 AR's, and a Remington 700), a lot of that being mil-surp ammo. Most of that is dumped downrange in 4-5 hour bursts 3-4 times a year. They have held up really well considering how hot/hard/dirty we run 'em.

Jealousy is a powerful thing...but we can talk you down off that roof and we can even help you find a new 6920 and things will be all better.

I have a DPMS upper with a Superior lower with DPMS lower parts kit. I have had zero problems so far. I only have a 100yrd range but it is very accurate for 100yrds. I've fired abut 500 wolf rounds no failures
