Bolt wear...

Just curious as to how long the bolt/carrer assembly will last etc...been considering doing some preventive measures possibly.
I have no idea as to when the gas rings wear out etc...
thanks for all the help...been nosin thru a Bushy catalog and they sell parts that'll just slap in and replace my used ones....

I don't have a lot of AR experiance, but the carrier is pretty much for life unless you blow it up. Bolts are good for around 50K+. There is a test for rings, it is posted on ARFcom. I would guess 10K+ rounds for the rings, or when they fail.

All are estimations.

I appreciate the insite buddy....just kinda figured I'd throw it out there since I have no idea.
The thing is getting wear, but no big cracks or anything.....just wasn't sure how long of a round count they're good for.

To test if the rings are still good do this. remove the bolt from the carrier and take out the firing pin and the cam bolt. now hold the bolt upside down and if the part with the lugs falls out, that means the rings are worn and need replacing.
