The CAA saddles are worth the $20

What are you thoughts on that SIR setup?

Dammit I need to get to the store and get some more Krylon and repaint some of these rifles this winter.

The SIR maybe "old school" but they just have that "look"
I got this one for $200, couldn't pass it up.
They are tough and rugged and I even picked up their new version
for my LMT build.

I got that ACOG clone and it was already painted so naturally I had to paint the rest to kind of match. The paint is a dark earth base (Aervoe)
with a misted over coat of Krylon cammo tan. Darn near a perfect match to Magpuls FDE.

Where do you get ACOG Clones? I know NcStar was selling (importing) them for a while but Trijicon threatened legal action against them and the overseas company that made them.

The one I got was a "used" one, the original owner got it from 1337 tactical IIRC. I think they are in Canada. Don't know if they still have them or not. Same reticle as the real ACOG minus the tritium.
The redot dot on top is a Optima 2000.

It doesn't have some of the features of the actual trijicon acogs.

1)No Chevron aiming reticle

2)No fiber optic illumination during the day\

3)no tritium illumination at night.

4)it DOES have the BDC getup though.

But it only costs 160 dollars brand new. Compare that to the 1000+ dollar ACOG

Yeah Im still kinda torn between another 556 or the 9mm. The 9mm is cheaper to shoot but, the 556 is cheaper to build.
