MikeXD.40,
What are your thoughts on the Magpul AFG? I am considering that right now, and figured I would just get the AFG vs the AFG2 to be safe on size. Also, where did you get the magazine hand cover? That was the exact setup I was looking at getting (both the hand cover and AFG). Thanks.

Sorry to intrude, but here's a visual comparison for reference on the AFG vs. AFG2...
AFG
AFG2
Other than wrapping up around the rail, the AFG is a bit longer overall. There is definitely more hand space for those with larger mitts. The AFG2 is a lot more slender and well suited for the shorter carbine length rail. I find the standard AFG more comfortable overall and only use the AFG2 when space is limited.

Not intruding at all. I really appreciate the reference. I always spend more time on the smaller purchases cause by this time, I am tired of spending money on the ar and just want to get the right one the first go around. I will be using the 7" BAR handrail to fit over my osprey kit, which if I am seeing it right, is the same handrail on your bottom rifle. I was talking with my buddy, and we just figured if the bottom rail isn't being used for anything else, might as well get the tad bit bigger one for the same price.

As far as the AFG goes I love it! I have also shot one with the AFG2 and really didnt notice much of a difference... The magazine hand cover is called a magwell grip.... Here is the Ebay item #400227526113 this is also the seller I bought mine from.... You know I could care less what people say about the magwell grip, its awesome for CQC !!!

Decided to put the middy on a weight loss program. Dropped the Redi-Mod, removed the KAC hand stop and mounted the sling straight to the rail and replaced the fixed Larue rear with a MBUS. I am thinking about a DD front sight to replace the LMT and a Noveske end plate instead of the ASAP.

Just possible he doesn't want the big freaking knob of the LMT front sight in the way of his left hand, and the reason he is thinking about changing it to the Daniel Defense sight.
I think Wayne knows what he is doing.
