I'm waiting for my AR's presents to show up in the mail. I'll post pics when I get them all.

Are those AR pistols chambered 5.56/.223? And could someone put a stock on there and have a super short rifle (though probably very illegal)?

My pistol is 5.56 and it looks like the other is a 9mm or similar conversion. And yes, putting a stock on = Club Fed. Just another of the silly US gun laws.

The red dot is the S.P.O.T. Mark III (3 MOA dot version)...here's one:
http://www.mountsplus.com/miva/merch...ES/SPO-MK3-NR3

It's basically an Aimpoint clone...but a more robust one than those cheap knock offs on ebay. There was a guy at AR15.com that put it through some torture testing and it did well. And a friend at a local gun range (whose opinion I value highly) gave it a high recommendation.

With respect to accuracy, IMO it's a good sight for up to 100yds. I think you'll find opinions vary widely on the effective range of red dots. But I've got an ARMS #40 BUIS which provides me with a more distant range capability. Here's a link for the BUIS:
http://www.eaglefirearms.net/ARMSnumber40.htm

For this rig, I really wanted a CQB configuration and I wanted the cowitness with the iron sights. My next build will be long distance shooter.

Thanks for the links.

Forgive my ignorance but the BUIS can be used effectively with the red dot for longer shots?

Yeah, that's too bad.

No, you'd just rely on your iron sights. Basically the red dot would be off and serve as nothing more than a glass tube.

Less talk more pictures.

Well I already posted by rifle, but this is yesterday's best group. 30 rounds at 50 yards with open sights. Not too shabby for my second time out with the RRA. BTW, each square is 1 inch and the white circle is 2 inches in diameter.

I was switching betwee POA and 6 o'clock sighting to see where things landed. As you can see its POA=POI.
