Considering the AR-10
I have a Colt AR-15 in 223 now Im thinking of adding a AR10,308.I have researched them to DEATH!I want to know if any of you guys actually own and shoot one.Love the idea of 308 in an AR platform.Ive looked at the Armalite and DPMS mostly.Pros and cons??Are the 19 rd mags dependable as the 10 rd mags?Since I have the Colt AR with open sights,Im thinking of the AR10 with flat-top and good glass.Mainly looking at the 20" or longer.

I built a DPMS ar10 about 2 months ago and I love it. I haven't had any trouble with the 19rd mags. The only cons I can think of is the price of ammo.
There was someone selling one for around $900 on a forum....i'll try to see if I can find the link.

I can possibly let you know next week as I have an Armalite on it's way. I know a few that have them and they are very loyal to say the least.
From what I have found out, then main difference is in the magazines. The DPMS and KAC use the SR25 magazines, while the Armalite used modified M14 mags, and now make their own. -Bidah

he's reduced the price to $850, which is a very good deal IMO.

Not exactly trying to dissuade you, but why not explore accuratized battle rifles? The DPMS gets fair to midland reviews... no real complaints, but not a ton of excitement either. RRA has stagnated on theirs to the point of many wondering if they can really produce a solid weapon in .308 at an affordable price.
Armalite gets tons of great reviews and as said before, their customers border on fanatical. They make a solid and reliable AR. I guess I just hate to see people by pass the PTR91's and accuratized FAL's. They are pretty rock solid and can be had for less than your typical AR10. Just another option for ya.
