I've never heard anyone mention the Brownell's branded flip up BUIS. I have both front and rear, and so far I am very pleased. Granted, I've never shot any other sights, but I'm happy. $100 for the set (I think maybe $60 for the rear only.) I'm sure they aren't the best, but they've worked so far.

being able to cut an old carry handle into a new buis = priceless

there are some things money can buy, for everything else, there is a dremmel.

chop a carry handle or get a LMT if you want a fixed site. If you want a flip a ARMS #40 is a quality piece but if you want something to fit under a scope later on(such as an acog or NF)get a Troy.

I'm not saying they are total crap, I'm saying that once you feel a Troy or LaRue sight and even an ARMS, you'll completely understand. There is a damn good reason why professionals use Troy and LaRue.

Save up the extra $30-45 and get a quality sight... buy once, pay once and just because you plan on putting a quality optic on the AR, doesn't mean that you should skimp on the BUIS.

I agree completely. Cheap and quality almost never go together.
