Sent back hey? I have had these same questions about buying a few different things (Bulk Ammunition, magazines, and ordering Lowers). How credible do you think this is?

I actually purchased the firearm online through TNWFirearms. My local gunsmith is my FFL, and he told me as far as he's concerned it's fine as long as date of purchase is earlier than Jan 15.

I considered this, but I also considered that there may be some in state LE that would take it upon themselves to track down 4473's filed in the last few months, just to be sure those guns are registered.

I'm not saying that I'm the ultimate authority of the NY SAFE Act because I'm certainly not. This whole situation frustrates the hell out of me, but I've read the bill and have spoken with a number of LGS's...I'm pullin' for ya though. Hope you're able to get it. What make AR did you order?

So I called TNWFirearms yesterday, to confirm that the date of purchase was prior to the bill passing.
ME: I just want to make sure that the date is prior to Jan 15.
CS:Uhh...we haven't charged your card yet.
ME: So can you backdate the DOP to the date I ordered it?
CS: Sorry, the form populates when we charge the card.
ME: Well, thanks for nothing. Cancel my order. Hopefully, I'll be able to order after I move out of commieland.

I don't think I'd have cancelled it. The law might get shot down in federal court before it shows up.

I'm sorry to hear that Fileobrother. I have a few friends that pretty much had the same thing happen. I'm right there with on getting out of commie-land NY; I'm moving to the mid-west in 6 months so I'm just going to save as much $ as I can until then.

I can't believe NY makes NJ look gun friendly

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." -Thomas Jefferson
