My AK is my weapon. It neither assaults nor defends, it's a tool. I can use it for defensive purposes or if need be, to be aggressive against a tyrannical government. The Federal government will dictate it's use by it's actions against the Constitution, Bill of Rights and attacks on my freedoms! Right now this government is attacking all 3 and asking for aggressive reaction!

Assault rifle IS a valid term, but it has a very distinct military origin.
It is, specifically, an infantry rifle that fires an intermediate cartridge (such as 5.56x45 as compared to 7.62x51) and can fire on fully automatic (including burst fire).
There seems to be some confusion in the press between what they're calling "assault rifles" and the old nomenclature they referred to them as, "assault weapons". I had to hear about how evil my sport rifle was because of my 20rd and 30rd mag's. He is from the social republic of Chicago.
He told me there was nothing I could say to convince him he wasn't right about taking away my rights, because he didn't understand why we would need them. How do you argue with a closed mind.
I did join the NRA because of the discussion. I needed to do more than just believe in OUR 2nd Amendment rights.
