Why an AR-15?
So what do you all do with you're AR-15's? In Wisconsin, there is not alot to do with one beyond a little varmint shooting(that almost nobody does).
I suppose it's legal for deer hunting-but almost nobody does this.So is it just a range gun? Why all the frenzy to get one? to sit in the safe?I agree they are cool looking guns, and fun to shoot, but what is the need for one?I'd rather have a 12 ga. for home defense.Maybe im wrong.

Because it's peace of mind knowing that if I ever had to use my rifle it's there and ready. I don't do much shooting with mine, I take it to the range every few months. However I sleep easy at night knowing if the Government were to turn on us or foreign enemies invaded I have a chance. Either way it's a semi automatic rifle and not a full auto rifle/machine gun.
People need to get over the fact it looks like what the military uses. One pull of the trigger, one shot fired.
