Hello all. I will be new to AR ownership sometime next week when my rifle arrives. I am currently trying to compile a list of good tools that I will need to perform maintenance on my AR. I plan on getting a good book to read on the subject and am mechanically inclined with an engineer's mind. I know I am looking for a front sight pin adjustment tool so I can dial in the elevation, but I'm not sure if I will need any type of tool to adjust the windage of my rear MBUS. I also see the need to have a wrench for barrel and buffer tube nut removal. All useful AR tool suggestions would be appreciated.
Here are few questions I currently have:
1. Are all standard triangular front sight posts the same, or will I have to identify which type mine is to buy a tool for making adjustments?
2. What is a good barrel and buffer tube nut combo wrench?
3. Can anyone point me to a good upper and lower clamping block that can be installed in a vise to hold both the upper and lower separately if needed for maintenance and upgrade activities?
Thanks,
