The only thing I dont like about it is it looks like you can only use the colt upper and lower not any upper and lower. The front of the lower is a different shape then normal. So you cant buy a LWRC, NOVESKE, Spiles, PSA, BCM, etc upper and throw it on. If you wanted to have a certain set up your going to need to buy the stripped colt upper and build it off of that. Also the upper in the picture I looked at looked like a solid 1 piece upper so that might not even be an option.

I'm not sure I get what you mean. For .308 uppers I think you need the special .308 upper. To the best of my knowledge, it can accept ANY upper in 5.56x45.
I think it's an awesome idea, especially if you want an ar-10 AND an ar-15 and you don't already own both. If you've already got an ar-15 (which it seems like most of us probably do), I think you'd be better off to buy a dedicated ar-10.
Overall I think the gun seems like a great idea. Also it's pretty cool that the lower is fully ambidextrous.

Just remember, 5.55 rifles start around $600 and .308 rifles start around $1k. I want an AR-10, and will probably go with the Colt when I have the budget.

Look at the shape of the lower and upper. They are different then normal. It comes down at an angle in the front where normal uppers and lower are straight. Look at the front take down pin and you'll notice its lower then normal. So it looks like it will only work with the colt uppers made specifically for this gun.

There is an adapter that goes into the magazine well that allows any mil spec ar15 upper to adapt. All change out is buffer spring and uppers.

So is it only the 308 uppers that are different?
I would like to get my hands on it and play with it.

Since there is not any real "standard" .308 platform, but at least 3 non-compatible platforms, I think Colt made a good decision to design their own .308 lower that can fit standard AR15 uppers with an adapter.

That is correct. 308 is propriety with adapter for milspec uppers in 556. Here is a video demo
