California

I am about to ETS from the Army. Some friends that I have meet in the service are trying to talk me into moving to CA. I own guns, and am not sure of the right place to look for what I can and can't bring into the state. I have weapons that are not legal for the current laws, but I have owned them for a long time and didn't live in the state when I bought them. So, do I have to get rid of the weapons? Or can I be grandfathered in and keep them with proper registration or what ever law they have?

Thank you
