Poly Hammer
I have less than 200 rounds through each rifle. there is a noticeable "sweet spot" of wear on my poly hammer. I am thinking 200 rounds would start a wear pattern.
I cant get a pic that shows what type of depression it has so far but at less than 200 rounds I can definitely feel it. being that its poly and is already being deformed I contacted NFA asking them if this is what to expect from a poly hammer. it seems at this rate by 2000 rounds it may be out of spec and give weak strikes.
NFA is advising me to use a heavier buffer and offered replacement parts for both rifles. I don't see the point of replacing the FCG's of the rifles if it's a mechanical incompatibility issue or putting new poly in with a new buffer only to have the poly hammer be the issue.
I dunno. what do you think? I am looking at... 30 each for new buffers and maybe... 50 or so for new FCG's. (keep in mind I need two)
honestly I think I can run this hammer til it won't and I will be ok for a while but it appears that one day "it won't".

If you replace the FCG (which I would suggest), you should just need the hammer, disconnecter, and trigger. No need to spend all that money on a full kit, save that for ammo.
Are the pins at least metal?

I would definitely suggest just picking up standard hammer, disco, and trigger. Probably cost you no more than 30 bucks for each rifle if you shop around. Youll have a good group where you don't have to worry about wearing so quickly. Is there any big advantage of a poly group than a standard GI group?

weight savings?
I like the trigger break and reset on the poly set. I hit the seam on the trigger with some 300 grit paper and it made it nice to the touch. its really stiff though. the tapco on the AK is much lighter.

update: New frontier Armory sent me a pair of new FCG's and sold me two new buffers. I can't really tell any difference between the old and new. the new are supposed to be heavier. without a way to weigh it I don't know. I doubt I can tell by feel.
the new are tapco with a number that doesn't identify the buffer. the old have no numbers or markings.
I guess just throw them in and see how they run, eh?

Don't use plastic parts in real guns.
I have a couple Rock River trigger groups sitting in a parts bin. Shoot me your address and I'll drop one in the mail to you.

Are we talking AR here? I have never seen a poly trigger group. I don't think I would ever use a poly hammer.
