Thoughts on this AR for $1k?

Hey all,

A guy I know is selling this AR and since this would be my first, I'd love your opinions on this set up:

Rock River Arms lower receiver with CMMG drop-in trigger
VILTOR a5 buffer kit and VILTOR EMOD stock DPMS upper with WMD Nib-x bolt carrier group
Brav MAGPUL angled foregrip
MAGPUL MOE pistol grip
MAGPUL MBUS flip-up sights
Tan Ceracote

Thanks for any and all replies!

Spend $200 more and buy a M4 from Palmetto State Armory! Better quality plus you get a Aimpoint ($400 value)!!!!

I agree... (PSA 16'' Hammer Forged M4A1 Patrol Rifle Package - Rifles - Firearms)

Even if you don't want the Aimpoint, you can sell it and then you are easily $200 less than the above option and you can those magpul parts for less than the difference...not to mention that as far as budget options go, PSA is pretty much GTG.

Or just spend $1200 on a BCM/DD (used more likely)/other option....

THIS is why I hate BRD....I mean AR15s....there is always another option that is slightly better for slightly more money...I know at some point a line has to be drawn but this is a better option IMO.

I would buy a Colt or a BCM and you will have a quality AR you can depend on for years and years.

Sounds a little high for a franken' gun IMO.
You could buy a complete RRA Elite Operator for about the same price w/a warranty.

I would agree, heck Walmart has Colt M4's for $1095 which I would rather buy before a used home built rifle.

Honestly, the rifle described by the OP would be a $700 rifle, if I were buying. I wouldn't be selling, as I'd have never owned it to begin with!

Build your own. I have a 16" Rguns.net upper and DM lower. It is the tightest gun I've ever shot. Definitely out performs most Colts. It's a name game in the AR world. There are only like 4-5 different manufactures for lowers.
