i had a great experience with them when i built my AR, i will agree though that when i called in to ask some questions it seemed to me like they would rather be doing something else. i think the girl that answers the phones doesn't know much... if they would find someone else to answer the phone things might get better.
i will say that in e-mailing them i got good responses.

Crappy way to run a business! On the other hand, the OP's post almost sounds like the device was drop-shipped to him directly from Aimpoint. Can't figure any other reason that anybody with half-a-brain @ PSA would tell a customer that it's the customer's problem. So, was the device shipped from PSA, or from Aimpoint??

When I ordered my stripped lower from them late last year they lost the first four copies of the license that my FFL sent to them. It took almost 2 weeks to get someone to actually answer the phone with multiple emails never being returned They then told me that I would have to find a different FFL since the one I was using apparently couldn't send them a license (even though he faxed it and they finally admitted in one of my conversations with the girl who answers the phones that they had misfiled it because she remembered seeing his name). I went to a different FFL holder who works with my wife. He's texting his license and PSA sent out my lower. When it arrived at the second FFL holders address, it had the first FFL holders name on it. The second guy's son refused the shipment saying he didn't know the guy whose nam was on it and since it didn't have his dads name on it. Luckily I called the post office and was able to pick it up from the post office since it also had my name on the outside of the package. Now that I'm ready to buy my upper I'm going with rock river instead of PSA.

May not be PSA's fault.
I once received a box containing an empty iPod touch package. Someone, somehow, somewhere along the line had opened the box, stolen the iPod, and resealed it. It then continued on it's way and was delivered to my house.

True, it might not be PSA's fault. Had stuff shipped before & never make it as well, luckily nothing of real value.
They could of had a little better CS though IMO.

I don't think that is the case with the op's product. Had the entire optic gone missing, I might agree with you; instead, pieces of the optic were either missing or damaged, but the main hardware was still there. What are the chances someone down the line said, "Oh Aimpoint! I need X, Y, Z for mine, ill snag em.."? Chances are they would have taken the whole thing. I think that in this case, someone in QC didn't do their job..
The biggest issue is the OP's experience with the CS. I have never ordered from palmeto state but after hearing multiple people have issues with them lately, I think BCM, gun shows and my local LGS' will keep my business.
