Need some help finding a SS 16" Barrel

Anybody having any tips on finding a 16" 5.56 SS barrel for a decent price that's $200 or less? Looking for one with a mid length gas system. Thanks in advance.

... and what's wrong with a .223 Wylde Chamber for you?

I don't know much about it. I started this build with the 5.56/.223 in mind and think I'm gonna follow that all the way through. Next is a .308 reach out and then maybe a .223 wylde if it fits right.

And you're absolutely positive on that? No issues firing either ammo?

Not sure what your timeline is but I have two custom ARs done by Barnes Precision Machine in Apex NC. They are both SS and are both chambered in .223/5.56 Wylde. This is a small company that does high quality work. You can look them up online and Im sure they would probably sell you just a barrell even though Im sure they would rather sell you the whole AR.

Finding a barrel under $200 will still be a challenge, but my confusion about "I can only find a wylde chamber" on a match barrel is now satisfied, lol.

As explained, a wylde chamber is a hybrid between 5.56 NATO [which differs depending on the reamer used] and .223 [which also differs depending on the reamer used].

So, find a stainless barrel you want, in the twist rate you want, and have the ammo flexibility while keeping good accuracy with a Wylde chamber.

Lol I'm glad we cleared that up. I hadn't done any research and had thought the .223 Wylde was some sort of new specialty round since they seem to be popping up like wildfire!!
