Possibly buying this from a friend... thoughts?

I am new to AR's, and guns, in general. I just purchased a Glock 19 Gen 4 for my first CCW gun, and now I want an AR.

My buddy asked if i was interested in his, and thisi s the description I got from him

CMMG Lower with enhanced LPK, Jard trigger, Magpul MIAD grip, Magpul Aluminum Winter Trigger guard, CMMG upper with M4 profile barrel, VLTOR front gas block with integrated folding BUIS, Midwest Industries Quad Rail, Collapsible stock, and a folding rear BUIS

He wants $900, and is also offering to throw in 4 Magpul PMag's, and a bunch of ammunition.

What do you guys think? Worth it?

seems legit. that's a bunch of goodies plus ammo.

if I had cash I would prolly do it but maybe others can find reasons not to.

if thats what you want fair deal, your paying new prices for the gun only money your saving is on ammo.

if you already know features you want on an ar15 and they would have to be swapped out I'd pass unless its a fortune in ammo.

if you think this is what you want/haven't shot ars enough to know what you want, and it still has finish on the Bolt carrier group/inside of the upper and isn't all marred up go for it.

if more than 300 rds of ammo get it too. unless you want something big changed.

personally I like mid length forearms considering I'm a gorilla

if the rifle runs good and its what you want I see no reason not to. anything that you want to change you can probably sell and put that money towards the new parts.

does your friend take care of his stuff? I have a friend that shot 300 corrosive milsurp rounds through his AK and after I explained why and how he needed to clean it, he didnt and it rusted shut on him.

Yes, heis very anal about his gear in any hobby. He says he has put 500 rounds through it.

He is including 300 rounds, a new Magpul AFP, a Vickers sling, and the mags.

And yes on the Ghost trigger bar. That was the first thing I did to my Gen 4.
