A Couple Newbie AR Questions

Like I said, I'm a newbie to the AR platform, and have a couple questions:
(Olympic Arms K16-SST)

1- What options do I have for a .22lr conversion? Somebody told me that all I need is a new bolt and mag, but all I see on Oly's website are completely new uppers costing a couple hundred bucks. Also, how's the accuracy with a conversion, if using the same barrel?

2- I want a single point sling, but not sure what all I need to put it on. I'm not looking for something super expensive, just to get the job done. (I was looking at one on MidwayUSA for like $15.) I've seen them attached just behind/behind the pistol grip, but I don't see any ring or tapped hole to attach it to. So, what are your suggestions for a cheap single-point; do I need additional mounting hardware; and are there any special tools required for install?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry, one more:

3- I want a barrel brake/flash suppressor, but I have a non-threaded bull barrel, measuring .902" in diameter. Is this standard? (Online, I really only see references to .920") I would prefer to not get it threaded or drilled; are there any production clamp-on options? If not, is threading a bull barrel a pretty common procedure most 'smiths can do, or will it be a costly procedure to send it away?

Thanks!

As to your second question, I use the ikickhippies sling plate (got mine at aimsurplus.com).

Assuming all specs are the same on your Olympic Arms, you can simply buy a new bolt and mag anywhere that sells it. That's the natural beauty of the AR platform, any parts for any other AR are supposed to work for it.

Here is one for example:
CMMG .22 LR AR-15 Conversion Kit, Magazines & Clips, Firearm Components, Shooting : Cabela's

There are reviews on the site also. There are other brands too, just do your research and pick one, any should work. Avoid anything made by Ciener. There may be other brands to avoid, maybe others will chime in.

Don't have a suggestion for brand of sling, there are way too many, and honestly most of them are the same bungee-style one and most are made exactly the same. In order to mount it, you'll need to replace your receiver back plate with one that has sling loops on them.

Here is a photo showing what the receiver plate is:

Here is an EXAMPLE of what you might replace it with, there are also countless brands and types, do your own research:

I don't know much about your options, but as far as I know you need threading to be able to put on a brake/flash supp.

Thanks!

Magpul ASAP or as stated above the Ikickhippies SLAP are my top picks for single point sling mounting.

If you dont want to thread your barrel the only thing i could suggest would be getting another, which means you would probably need a new gas block as well.

Here is a .22 conversion kit for a decent price although i am not sure how well it functions. I myself would rather buy a dedicated 22.
