Worst Idea Ever? YOU DECIDE!

So a company called Law Tactical apparently came out with a device that allows you to mount a side folding stock onto a standard AR. Sounds pretty cool, right? It's only 180 bucks too. So whats the catch, you ask? Oh, nothing much... except for the fact that if you fire the gun while folded you EAT THE BOLT CARRIER!

AR Folding Stock Adaptor | Law Tactical LLC

It does not prevent the gun from firing while folded either. I cannot think of a more creative way to simultaneously destroy my gun and perform orthodontic surgery on myself than this.

I can see how it's nice for deployment out of a vehicle and in an ideal situation with enough time to unfold the stock all is well ... but unless it can't be fired folded it's just asking for trouble ...

On top of that, it looks like you'd have trouble getting to the safety selector while it's folded.

Looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen, they should at least make their disclaimers much more prevalent on the website!

I'll just stick with a 6-position collapsible! Works for me.

Not sure why you'd want to actuate the safety while its folded, since you dont want to fire it while its folded

not the fault of the stock, fault the design of the ARs buffer system. How exactly would you interlock the safety when the stock is folded?

For the ability to fold the stock (for size reduction) cool....for the potential to eat a chunk of steel ramming out the back at high velocity...not so cool

Do they have a piston system that replaces the bcg (with a cut down one that won't protrude out the back) and the spring is around the piston above the barrel....

With conventional buffer tube assembly and BCG...opening it up is a BAAAAAAAD idea!

I've seen dumber, but its pretty high up there. Either it has more crap in the system oscillating or the bcg and the buffer are totally exposed to the elements, either way totally retarded.

I'll throw out $5k as an amount of oral surgery that could be easily needed after a BCG snack. I'm sure that it wouldn't be too difficult to have some sort of cam device block the BCG from cycling when folded.

How about folding up the left side. Most shooters are right handed, so the sling would interfere with folding the stock.

Neat idea, but lame execution.
