weapons light.

First off, a little about what I have:

Frankin AR 15, 16" rifle length upper with full size MOE hand guards, MOE forward grip, and an m7 bayonet.

What are some recommendation for an bright weapons light? No need for lasers or infrared, just a light source only. Do you guys recommend standard lighting or LED's?

Keeping in mind, because I have the MOE hand guards, I can not attach a rail mounted light to my weapon. I know I can attach the light to the sight post or the barrel, but won't that interfere with my bayonet? Or will the sight post mount keep it out of the way?

So I guess I have two questions. 1.) what is a good way to mount a light to an AR given my equipment? And 2.) What is a good quality, super bright weapons light that is reasonably priced?

Thanks in advance guys, much appreciated. T_byrd

Edit: Guess I probably should have included what I will use the light for. The light system will be used when the AR is outside. Mainly a SHTF addition to the AR. I do not plan to clear rooms with it, that is what the XD and light/laser is for. Just want to have the ability to flip on a weapon mounted light in a SHTF or deep woods kind of environment.

So can't help you with mounting, I've quad rails and actually haven't yet found a mount I like. However for lights the Fenix PD32 makes me real, real happy. Variable brightness ranging form "nightlight" to "three times as bright as a maglite", light weight, well built and over all really cool. The one I have now, intended to be a weapon light actually won't be, it is now my flashlight because I like it so much. When I do finally find a mount I like, I'll buy another for the rifle.

You could go with a Surefire Scout or Mini-Scout and utilize the Magpul Illumination Kit. The kit is made for the MOE handguard and gives you a screw on picatinny section to accept the picatinny mounted light as well as another section to capture the tape switch.

Or

You could go with the Magpul MOE Scout Mount and mount the two Surefire weapons lights mentioned above directly to your MOE handguard.

Or

you could go with any other picatinny mount weapon light and utilize the Magpul MOE screw in rail sections that come in 5, 7, 9 or 11 section sizes made to fit the MOE handguards.
Magpul is the answer Hope this helps!

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for. The Illumination kit has everything I need, and surprisingly, it's only 20 bucks, a lot less than I was expecting to pay. I do like the surfire lights, but my budget doesnt allow for them at the moment. I guess I'll just have to save up for one. Just out of curiosity, any other suggestions for a light?
