Well looks like I will be making a trip back to their store/warehouse. First time in there I wish I had a higher limit card, I would have been cash poor gun rich. What upper do you all recommend. I am for sure getting a PSA lower. Not decided on a stripped or complete. I have no building tools and to just take a lower home would be a good start.

+1. Built a PSA middie and very satisfied. Low round count but it has functioned flawlessly.

If you want to head to the Axis of evil Walmart is now stocking AR's, though not sure on the price. The AR is the swiss army knives of guns. So many options.

I am out by Columbia. So we headed over to Farrow Road. I'm here for a week and figured might as well go home with something fun. Went out to Sandhill, the Academy there stocks near nothing in my opinion, and prices are rediculous for just the basic. The guy actually told me to go to PSA.

See that, even he knows a good deal on quality.

i researched a while and couldnt find any negativity on psa other than a few ppl bitching about being slow black friday i searched high and low and psa was the only place i could get exactly what i wanted for less than 900 everywhere else i looked for a full length free float and low pro gas block was 1200 i wanted it done all at once so i wouldnt void a warranty i just order i think fri and it shipped last night rifle kit and with extras and 3 lowers for 1050 shipped i dont think i could be happier unless the lower had been on sale lol

Slow shipping has been an issue but not a big deal to me. I am willing to wait a little longer for a great price and quality. The lower came within a week. The upper showed up about 2 weeks after the lower.

When I talked to the guy he said they had shipping issues. But explained it wasn't their fault. A lot of locals have been buying damn near everything. Said they are just now getting their shot show purchases in. Apprently the lone lady that checks on paperwork in the state has been so overwhelmed since thanksgiving that she just up and quit. Found this hilarious.

purdue, you can get a stripped lower from them and then a rifle kit. i got the 16" hammer forged upper with LPK, i think it was $600. the only tool you'll need is a hole punch for driving pins and an armorer's wrench. i got one from them for $20, and that is the best price i saw online from any retailer i looked at. those are really the only tools you need... oh, and a hammer...
i was concerned about tools too but am not now after i researched a little bit.

Welcome to the forum fellow South Carolinian!
Well you have two options since there are two companies in the State of South Carolina that produce their own AR's:
Also, there is a company that sell AR-15's at great prices; I purchased my first AR (Del-Ton 16" carbine) for around $800, located in Travlers Rest called
Upstate Armory Group. They are a great company and the staff there is extremely nice and they have excellent customer service. Upstate usually frequents all of the state wide gun shows and they are scheduled to be at the Columbia gun show March 17th–18th (this weekend dude!). You can find really good deals at the gun shows...
From what I understand, both Palmetto State Armory and Palmetto State Defense make quality AR's...
Again, welcome to the forum!

I just used a palmetto stripped lower for my build out last month. I am having some issues with my bolt catch but that could be the DPMS kit I used or my gunsmithing!
