I'd like to tap my resources here to try and see if anyone is willing to help.

Here's what I'm asking. Help me find the best possible deals. I know where I want to start; LW-15 Complete Polymer Lower [LW-15 Complete (Standard)] - $99.99 : New Frontier Armory - Firearm Sales, Transfers, and Consignment

From there I am open to ideas. I will of course supply the money and have just under 400 to spend. So lets get to shopping. I'll subscribe to this thread and just have the members that are willing to help post deals here. Lets go.

I don't need optics, not necessarily needing rails but I do prefer a flat top upper. I want a functioning rifle. Can be used or new parts as long as they're in good shape.

Just buy a S&W for $600 and be done. Life time warranty too!

This is cool. I have no experience with anything AR, and as a student, limited budget. Curious how this goes and the quality of the end product. Keep posting. I'm very interested.

Yep it can be done. Plenty of good deals out there. Used parts are a great source to build a decent AR.

I have Plum Crazy lower as well. Probably 600 rounds down range. 0 problems. I didn't realize that Plum Crazy made a polymer upper. THAT would be interesting. Building a sub-$500 AR isn't that difficult if you start with the Plum Crazy complete lower.
