Magnifier.

im looking into getting a magnifier for my Eotech 555. also with the side swivel to access my eotech brightness buttons. and would like it to be 3x magnification.

now reason im posting is the eotech magnifier is very costly as much as the sight as you guys know, but is there cheaper options for the magnifier?

i mean its not like its a sight that needs to stay zeroed. just curious if buying a $500 magnifier would really be that much better then a good cheaper magnifier, as long as they do the same im not worried about name brands matching or anything.

any good options guys?

You can always go with a PA magnifier:

I can't talk from personal experience, but I have been researching the same thing. Consensus is that a cheaper magnifier will do just as much as the EOTech. Spending 500 bucks on a fixed magnifier seems silly.

I've been looking into the Primary Arms ones here. https://www.primaryarms.com/Red_Dot_...iers_s/910.htm

I did look at a cheap knock off at a gun show last weekend, and the eye relief was pretty terrible. That would be the only thing you would want to watch out for.

Burris AR Tripler is also a good one. You can center the reticle in the magnifier too which of course won't affect point of impact.

Check out the Vortex vmx3 with the swing off mount.

I like the design, the way it swings off and down so you can still see the target with your non-shooting eye when the magnifier is disengaged.

I think you can get the whole works for around $250.

This video is a bit long, but it shows what I'm talking about

You can definitely get a magnifier that will function the same way for cheaper. What you will NOT get is durability. After I dropped my EO Tech EXPS 3-0 on the cement from 3 feet up while taking it off to clean the rifle and then put it back on and realized not only was the whole thing perectly intact but it held zero I was convinced that you get what you pay for.

I got the primary arms deluxe 3x magnifier and flip to side mount for mine and like it a lot. It has the adjustment screws to center the reticle and a focus adjustment on the back.

The flip to side is not as nice as eotechs push button but is is still functional.
