Honestly, no. Never heard that one.

Once upon a time, someone here posted either an actual photo or a link to a hideous firearm that had a conical (think funnel-type dog collar) attachment on the barrel.

Anyone remember this one? Hobo, it would be the crown jewel of your collection.

Isn't that conical thing something like a reverse-supressor? The gun is under powered and very quiet usually. To make it sound like a larger caliber (and therefore more intimidating) they attached a dog collar to act as a bullhorn to throw the sound farther and at an enhanced bass frequency.

Yeah, that's it.

Those are Stallards, which is the grandaddy of the modern day Hi-points. I had a chance to buy one in Calicornia back in the 80s for $119, but I forgot to buy one.
That cone is a Flash Enhancer, which is the opposite of a Flash Hider. The odds are in a self defence situation the target will mostly likely be missed, so as a secondary strategy the enormous flash will temporarily blind the perp giving you a few seconds to pistol whip the crook!

Hey. There ain't nothing ugly about a Hi-Point C-9. Mine has gown on me. The more I shoot it, the better looking it gets. I think they look "functional."

(Not the best picture in the world, but the target speaks for itself.)

I don't have one yet, but I plan to get one of those "Planet of the Apes" Hi-Point 9mm carbines one of these days.

I saw one of those or something that looked very similar at a gun show. It was a .45 and $100. My friend decided he didn't want it though.
