I bought one a couple months back and my Mr. Bushmaster friend gave me complete crap about it. I've put on a UAG quad rail and front and rear aluminum fip sights. I've got a nice SightMark red dot/laser on it and that thing just flies. After he shot a few mags through it he reluctantly said, "I like that...not too shabby at all..." which was his way of saying he was wrong. What's not to like about a nice AR for under 700 bored in 5.56 with a chrome-lined barrel?!? I think it's a very solid weapon and eats everything I feed it... Haters gonna hate...

Reading through this old thread and seeing what people paid for their ARs is depressing, lol.

In another 6 or 9 months they'll be back to paying the same thing. Panic is like luck. Neither lasts very long before it changes.

Im not so sure billt, prices are never as elastic as we would like them to be. Not saying things wont loosen up, after all we are a "progressive" nation, Unfortunately I think that includes prices. Companies are seeing demand never seen before, even if it drops off, we will most likely see "sticky" prices... then again, just my .02.

Then again, it may be in our best interest to shout out that prices will fall so there is more supply around now!

We went through this exactly 4 years ago to the day. The only difference before is we feared what Hussein didn't say, now they fear what he did. Last time it lasted around 6 to 9 months before all of the panic buyers ran out of money, (credit). This time will be much the same. It's doubtful Harry Reid will even bring up this dog with fleas for a vote in the Senate. And even if he did, and even if it passed, which it won't, the Republicans would never pass it in the House.

This time the carreer politicians are on our side. They want to keep their jobs. This should cause the people who are always screaming "term limits" to readjust their thinking. These Democrats don't want a repeat performance of 1994. They know they WILL BE VOTED OUT if they in fact vote for another Assault Weapons Ban. And Reid knows he'll lose his powerful job as Senate Majority Leader in the process. The "common good" of the Democratic party is at stake here. This means more to Reid and his fellow Senators than passing gun control does.

In the meantime these panic buyers will run out of money, and supply will quickly catch up with demand. That controls prices, not how "progressive" we either have become, or think we want to. Then look for a glut of these rifles to appear on the used market, as buyers look to pay for other things that are more important than a rifle they bought in a nervous panic, because they thought the sky was falling. The same thing happened with Silver less than 2 years ago. The sheep ran to buy it at $48.00 an ounce. It plummetted to $28.00 an ounce a short time later. They were left holding the bag then, just like these idiots who are paying $2,250.00 for a Stag Arms AR-15 will be now.

"Rick Parsons, 53, of Phoenix, was among several attendees who hung homemade signs around their necks or guns touting the guns as for sale. He was selling a Stag AR-15. Asking price: $2,250. The “pre-Connecticut” price, he said, was about $1,400. “It’s human nature,” he said. “If you say you can’t have it, everybody wants one.” It sold within two hours of when he entered the grounds."

This is why they will leave it up to the states to gut the rights of gun owners just like New York, so "they" are not the bad guys for doing it.

I only hope and pray you're right. Here in Arizona an Assault Weapons Ban has about as much chance of winning as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. It will just provide yet another reason for people to leave these communist, Democratic slave states. Watch the fireworks in New York during the mid term elections.

Reid has already said he will allow a gun control bill to be voted on. The senate is controlled by the dems, i have no doubt they will pass some form of gun control.

The house is still controlled by republicans and may stop any bad bills but don't take it for granted, let them know what you want!

I disagree with those of you thinking our govt members have a fear about being "voted out" by passing new gun legislation.

You all don't think many more people and organizations aren't sending mails to politicians begging for additional gun control? Seriously? I bet that number of folks for new gun legislation far far supersedes those of us not asking for any new legislation. Time to get real vs. "hoping".

Hell there are emails being tossed around at my place of employment who employs 250k people here in America asking them to "mail or call your congressman and senators, etc, etc...requesting them to sign new gun legislation when the time comes" Same goes for our church members.

I hear this all around so like I said, that last shooting shifted more people to the side wanting additional gun control.
