XPS has a longer battery life but AA batteries are cheaper. I have both a XPS and EXPS and love them both. I prefer the smaller size and like the 123A type batteries.

I actually may end up going with the 517 (buttons on the side) just in case I ever want to add a magnifier.

We'll see...taking my rifle to the tactical shop now.

I personally will be going with the 516 because all my lights run off of the 123 batteries, and if i carry one of the surefire battery and bulb carriers with me i'll have batteries for all of my stuff and and extra bulb if some how both my lights go down, i know this isn't something alot of people think about but I do and its important to me.

Just got to thinking about it and i cant remember if those surefire holders carry 5 or 6 batteries, if it holds 6 then the 516 would be fine but if it only holds 5 then the XPS2 may be the way to go.

XPS2-2 is lighter, 512 uses more common batteries and heavier

I just bought a 522 Clone off Amazon by GRG MFG. Sure it is not the real deal, but I dont have that kind of cash to put on an optic just for night vision.

The clone is a simple red dot based on old standard red dot tech tried and proven all these years dressed up to look like an EOtech.

for 75 bucks I can put all that money I saved on 5000 rounds of 22lr hollow points for the end of the world event.

I put a 512 on my Bushy. Not as small as the newer models, but the AA battery usage is nice. Weight isn't an issue with me since I am just an armchair commando.
