Duracoat

This is a discussion on Duracoat within the AR Talk forums, part of the Long Gun Talk category; i was looking at the duracoat website and i really want my ar done in the Urban Mirageflage but i dont wanna do it myself ...

Duracoat

i was looking at the duracoat website and i really want my ar done in the Urban Mirageflage but i dont wanna do it myself . i was wondering how hard it is or if anybody knows someone in the buffalo ny area that does it. thanks

I've done the duracoat, it is fairly easy. There are a few threads by others around here detailing the application of it. Just gotta read the directions.

There are also several gunshop online that do it as a service. Google "duracoat" under images and you will see tons of guns done in it, and from those pics you can find the shop that posted the work. Good luck.

I duracoat'ed my AK47... Was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Directions are pretty straight forward.

I did my AK but it had already been bead blasted, I also did my HD shotgun with out bead blast, just used fine grit sandpaper but the finish scratches easier than the blasted surface.

If you can disassemble the gun and have an oven it's simple
