Check what bench rest shooters use, short heavy barrels.

don
Exactly, a short fat barrel is more rigid than a longer barrel of the same diameter. Rigid equals accuracy.

A longer bbl will get you more velocity, and make you more accurate with a longer sight radius.

I guess that is the desired result....

I was so happy to get advice from you and everyone else. It really opened my eyes to look a little deeper. Also after reading more on the AR15.com forum I found out that if you are a member and have an account with Del-Ton you get 10% off your purchase. They also changed there options just two days ago to include M4 ramps as standard now instead of as a $25 upgrade. I am taking your advice about the BCG. I also decided against the welded flash suppressor in case I decide to change it later. Also going to go with the YHM flip sight gas block that Hikeeba showed in his post. I think that is a great addition to the aesthetics of the rifle.

The only problem I am running into is that my local GS does not want me to use him as a transfer location. He is trying to sell me on buying one of his lowers. I was really surprised at that. But I guess I can understand that as well.

Again thank you for all ya'lls help and time.

Sight radius only comes into play if you are using iron sights, means nothing if using optics.
