Arrow Daniel Defense??

Has anyone had experience with their AR's, (as a complete, not just a put together AR using some of their parts.)?

After looking around a little, I have stumpled upon them and they seem to have good quality of parts and accessories included in their complete riffles. They also seem to be fairly priced.

I am new to the AR game but am very interested in their DDM4v3 and DDm4v5.

I know I would like a 16" barrel with their omega x 9.0 rail system so that being said I have a few dumb questions...

1.) What is a good twist ratio to have?
(My intentions for the riffle would be intended for shooting up to +/- 200yards, nothing really far (no hunting))

2.) DDM4v3 comes with factory mounted iron sights, would this interfer with rail mounted optics (3x multiplier/ red dot?) If so, my backup plan is to go for the DDM4v5 that is not equiped with factory irons and buy the detachables irons as a "plan B" to the optics.

3.) How frequently have you had issues with the omega X rail system (coming loose)?

4.) What the difference between barrel types? ( lightweight Carbine, mid-length, lightweight mid-length, etc)

5.) What is a buffer? They are listed as both having a "H buffer"

If I have left anything out that you feel is important in an AR, please chime in!

Please Don't be the douche who flames on someone for asking questions.

Thank you for your assist in answering any of my inquiries.

You know what, being the "ask now, look later" idiot I am.....

I found the sticky regarding the break down of the AR's. I'm reading it now, but still feel free to enlighten me about your "review" or thoughts regarding my post, thanks to all.

DD rifles are very good and you can not go wrong with them. As far as twist for the barrel, that is a hot topic but 1x9 and 1x7 are the common twist to shoot 55gr bullets and up. Heavier bullets are a better choice in general for longer range shots. I have a 1x7 and it shoots tighter groups with 69gr and above ammo. Surplus 55gr is not bad, but the groups are not as tight or consistent but for others that is not the case. For a first AR, I say go with the DD rifle. It is a mil-spec rifle that is going to be accurate and reliable. With the iron sights that come with rifle, co-witnessing optics will be easy. You may need to pick up a lower or taller mount depending on the optic but most likely it will be fine from the start. Just mount the optic, flip up the sights and see if everything is lined up the way you want it. If not, adjust as needed.

Spending some time and researching is always the best way to go before making a large purchase like this and that sticky about AR's has a ton of good info. Good luck with your decision.

Great rifle and great company, brother picked up his dd m4 a couple months back, it has not had 1 problem in 2k rounds shooting all diff kinds of ammo. Quality and fit/finish is great , would deff recommend them.

At the price, I think they are charging lower than they should

Is your 1:7 twist a nato5.56 or a .223rem rifle?

ScubaSteveXdm,
That's what I wanted to hear about the quality/company. I have little luck finding video reveiws of their rifles.

Thank you guys for replying!

I'm sure DD's rifles are excellent, as are the rifles of several other manufacturers. I used a DD 1/7 M4 barrel when I recently built a rifle for my youngest son. Great barrel; mil-spec, chrome-lined, etc. I doubt that you'll find a DD 1/7 rifle in .223; I believe they're all 5.56.

I like the DD barrel so much that I bought another barrel (from Brownell's) coupla weeks ago, just so I can build an upper with the DD barrel.
