Which one would you buy

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting my first .223 rifle. I currently have 2 M1a's. The rifles I'm looking at are the Ruger 556, The sig 556 swat and the FN scar 16s. I know the scar is a grand more then the other two.

What would you guys do. Get the Ruger or the Sig ? or save a little more and get the scar

Out of those 3 i would choose the Sig. I think its a great rifle for the money. the ruger is good also but the sig is different. The scare is nice but i wouldnt buy it till it comes down in price.

The Ruger (as far as I know) can't be had in a 1in 7. Plus for the cost vs quality it's a tough sell for me (personally).

I have a SCAR and it has been an excellent firearm. I'm very happy to own it and it's a keeper for me. I could list all of the things I like about the SCAR, but the one thing I would really recommend is shouldering both the SCAR and the Sig to see if one feels better to you. They are balanced very differently.

The Sig costs a lot less.

Pics when you decide.

The Ruger is a 1 in 9 twist and uses the AR platform which there are tons of parts for. BTW the Ruger itself comes with many high quality parts like Troy backuup iron front and rear sights, Hogue grip, Troy rail, 3 Pmags.

The Rugers are a very high quality firearm:

The Sig Swat has a a cheap feel to it compared to the high quality feel of the SR556 Rugers.

Standard SR556

Ruger Carbine SR556C

I was in the market for the Sig and shot it but after shooting my buddies Ruger SR556 that was enough to tell me which which is the must have firearm.

I wound up getting both Ruger SR556s and they shoot as good as both of my Colt ARs:

I do like Sig handguns though!

Good luck in your decision.

I have put 3400+ rounds through this rifle now and not one failure to feed to eject:

Very accurate 5.56mm.

Hey Goretro77, Do you notice any loss of accuracy with the 556c compared to the standard 556 at 100yrds.

Also is there any loss of muzzle velocity with the 556c compared to the standard 556

thanks
