What's the best way to go? Dedicated 22LR AR-style from Sig or Colt? 22LR upper to mate with regular lower? or 22LR bolt conversion kit (CMMG, Spikes)?
Would like to get something like this for my son as a first rfile, or would I be best served with a 10/22 and just get the bolt conversion kit if I ever feel like shooting an AR 22LR?
you can get a S&W M&P15-22 that is dedicated, railed, and barrel twisted (1:12)for .22LR its only $400-450 close to the cost of a conversion. 1:7 or 1:9 doesnt seem the best to shoot 22LR from what I've heard. I guess it depends how accurate you want to be
Malchi 3:17-18 17“They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child. 18Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”
How old is your son? A 10-22 is a good choise to have. I started all my kids with a single shot .22 because it gave me better control over what they where doing when they where learning. After that they moved on to other things but carried on the basics of gun safety and handling.

I don't know yet...meant to take it to the range with me today but left it at home
However a guy I know runs one as a dedicated AR and it has very few failures. I put 2-3 mags through it without a single hiccup...it was smooth. Sure beats a 10/22 and it's god awful trigger.
