Bravo Company has the more mil spec stuff, lot of uppers in stock, costs more obviously but excellent quality.
A buddy of mine has basically the same AR. He ordered all the parts from Del-ton and built it himself. He has been verry happy with it.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Rock River but you can also build a pretty nice AR for around $1k

Bravo Company upper: $425
Bravo Company B&CG: $140
Daniel Defense Rail: $250
Spike's Lower: $89
Stag or Rock River LPK: $70
BCM M4 stock assembly: $75

$1,049

BCM is out of stock right this second on their upper because they just finished a batch about a month ago and sold out all their stock. It probably would be a few weeks, maybe months to have the next batch ready. I know Delton is having orders pushed out a little bit. Spike's has their lowers in stock, or did a week ago, so I know you can get that shipped ASAP. For uppers, I'm going BCM, but I have a while to go before I can fund the upper, so I guess the time frame isn't as much of an impediment for me. Check stuff like Gunbroker to see if anybody has the uppers you want that they bought extras on who's selling. Just my thoughts.
Bubble buster. This was info given from a trusted shop. And futher more they had non to sale, so they were not trying to make some easy money (they even gave me names of other places to look locally). They have been having the same problem getting supplies. They had ordered an AR for a customer in June and just delivered it last week. Don't get me wrong I found uppers out ther but they were high end units that were in supply. I was hunnting for an entry level upper, $500-$600, these were hard to find. Rock River wouldn't even give a ship time.

I don't contest that they're having long ship times, but until I see a more concrete piece of evidence I find it seriously suspect that there's companies cancelling customer orders to intentionally overcharge them.

Fair enough! Is your build done yet?

In Chicago suburbs it is not to cheep they were asking just under $1000 it had front grip rail system on it, removable upper grip with a rail, 5.52 he said you could shoot 223 without any modification also, is that correct?
what should I be looking for or stay away from.

It felt good in my hand, a friend who was with me said it was good, he is a retired army, got hurt on a jump so had to get out early.

I was looking for a picture of it but cant find one with the options it had.
Looks a lot like the CAR A4 but had the removable top handle and the R4 barrel.
I see they make a 9mm version, can you convert back and forth or is that not a option.
Without knowing the exact features I can only guess at the price and it sounds OK. Going by the Rock River web site it looks like at least $800. BTW everyone I know that talks about how cheep you can build an AR end up spending about $1000. I say the only reason to build is 1 get just what you want 2 so you can say you built it (my choice).

Just started actually. I have my lower finished up, hopefully the funds for my upper pieces will start coming through. I'd like to be shooting maybe end of January, but who knows? This will be worsened by my wife insisting I own a gun-safe prior to finishing my build. More money out the door.

Great! I'd budget out what you want to spend on extra magazines and ammo and get the AR you like and can afford. Around my parts you can get an MP15 for $699. Not a bad start.

If you have kids a safe is a must, but its not a bad idea now days just to keep your toys safe. I need a bigger one. Most of whats in mine are a lot of old shotguns my dad picked up form coworkers. If you have a Tractor supply near they carry nice selection of deferent sizes. Keep us posted on the build, I hope to put a few down the barrel of mine this weekend.
