Pof p415 lower

I'm looking at purchasing a pof p-415 complete lower. It is a gen I and has a dpms lpk and magpaul grip/stock. Before I purchase it I wanted to get peoples thoughts and being that it's a gen I is it worth 600.

Thanks

yeah but what do you mean 600 on a lower is big money either for something super high quality or super rare...

if you are looking at the gen1 POF look at any reputable AR lower.

LMT
Mega
Spikes
Armalite
Saber defense
Noveske

look around you should be able to do better than gen 1 for 600

if it was a gen3 i would say go for it.

I'm just looking to pick something up for fun. I want something of good quality. Doesn't have to be the best. Mid range would be good. I would prefer something that is easier to clean. Ive even though about picking up the sr-556.

If you're not shooting more than 2 or 300 rounds at a time cleaning time will generally be the same

That's a chunk of change to drop on a lower. As mentioned above, look into some of the top manufacturers and pick the roll mark you like best. The lower is not the part of an AR that's hard to clean..... It's the upper you will want to spend the extra money on.

POF lowers are billet so they are, by nature, going to be more expensive than a forged lower. However POF, especially the gen 1 stuff, has not proven to be worth the premium. There are other billet lowers that are worth it like the sun-devil(about 185) and a few other billet lowers that are in the 200-250 price range. Billet lowers, IMO, do not really add anything to a high quality(7075-T6) forged lower.

I just really see no point in a billet lower over a forged lower. I would rather invest in 2 high quality forged lowers and keep one as a back up. Just my .02
But as always with AR stuff, get what YOU want. Enjoy!
