AR-15 Scope for Predator Hunting?

Got some coyotes on a buddy's farm that need taken care of. Plan on using the AR-15. Looking for a decent scope (or optic) for this purpose. Max shots out to about 300 yards. Looking for something that will not break the bank. Recommendations please from those that have experience in this area. Thanks.

I like Barska products. But I have a $50 Bushnell from Walmart on my Weatherby (coyote killer) that works well.

Do yourself a favor and don't spend alot of $ on a scope that's gonna get beat up in the woods. This setup has taken several coyotes. Very cheap BSA Sweet .223. No the glass isn't super clear but when you trip over an old fence in the dark and break the scope...throw it away and buy another.

I recently bought a center point from walmart that cost $70 and was the "high power" one. has red and green iluminated lighting and is crystal clear. i bought it and figured if it was junk i could return it because of walmarts policy. well i took it to a friends place where we have a private range and he was so impressed he is getting one. they have several models and you cant beat the price / performance plus like another poster wrote if it breaks it is only 70 bucks.

Or, you could buy a Burris, Leupold, etc., and have a clear picture as well as a tough scope that'll be replaced free, forever, if you happen to fall down crossing a fence and bust the scope.

+1, in the long run a better built scope will be better. Try to stay away from barska, simmons, bsa, etc.

I heard the best advise on a commercial for a mattress the other day:

The area I hunt coyotes and bobcats in is pretty rough terrain and wooded. And since I'm not offered ultra long range shots because of the terrain, I use a 1.5-6 Barska Huntmaster scope on my M4 for that.

It works really well for varminting.
