I'd go with the CMMG "Bargain bin" Rifles for 600 bucks, if it were me.

cmmg website

trade-ins, demos, scratched, dented, discolored, over-runs, special buys, uglies, etc.

Rifles are sold as-is with no returns.
Sounds like the stuff they couldn't sell at the gunshows........

I just bought a Del-Ton AR-15 at a gun show two Saturday's ago. I know it is not a top notch rifle but it seems very well put together.

Both the upper and lower receiver is mil-spec and forged from 7076 T6 aluminum. It is hard coat anodized and compared to some of the higher end rifles that I have seen, the finish on the Del-Ton is very impressive.

The BCG is mil-spec and is phosphated 8620 steel that has been heat treated. The gas key is staked but I think they could have staked it a little better.

The only drawback to the rifle is that the barrel is not chrome lined and is made from 4140 chrome moly steel. I have heard that chrome lining lengthens the life of the barrel and chrome moly is more accurate than the chrome lining but does not last as long as chrome lining...I am sure that a barrels life exceeds that of 100,000 rounds and most people eventually upgrade their barrels anyway so it may not be that much of a drawback...

The feed ramps are M-4 feed ramps, the only issue I have with that is that they are only cut into the barrel and do not extend onto the upper receiver. I know this is not a major issue except when purchasing a new barrel, making sure you buy the right one and don't end up having a setup with improper feed ramps...

The rifling in the barrel is a 1:9 ratio, this is pretty much preference. I would like to have had a 1:7 ratio but the 1:9 will suit my target plinking needs as I will be purchasing a .30 Remington upper to snap on the lower for hunting purposes.

The rifle didn't come with a rear sight so I purchased a CAA carry handle sight (I know, not the best sight on the market but with my limited budget it was all I could afford for now.).

See pics below next to my XDM-40...

Is the BCG a full auto BCG?

The way that is is ok, if the upper had cuts, but not the barrel then that would be bad. It wouldnt matter what kind of barrel you bought in the future, with cuts or without, wouldnt matter since the upper doesn't have the cuts. Its only when the upper has the cuts that you must buy a barrel with cuts.

If the ramps are not cut into the receiver - they are not 'M4' cuts, they are rifle cuts.

Still, should not be an issue, I doubt you gonna be running a happy switch.
