The research continues...Spikes Tactical?

Well...my reaserch continues.

While researching the Daniel Defense ARs, I came across this gem:

ST-15 M4 Carbine w/Pmag [ST15 Rifle] - $950.00 : Spikes Tactical

This M4 variant seems to have all the "checks" as the Daniel Defense AR that I was considering at 1150 dollars, yet is less than 100 bucks more than the Stag Model 2 I can get locally.

The Spikes ST-15 definately has more features than the Stag Model 2, as it has M4 feedramps, better barrel steel, properly staked gas key screws and all MPI inspected bolt and barrel parts. More of a boutique made rifle made by enthusiasts rather than a factory cranked out rifle....I kinda like that aspect, as my AK came from a small high quality shop as well and runs great.

It seems the Spikes ST-15 has literally the same features as the Colt 6920 that runs 1200 bucks and the BCM AR that runs about 1100 dollars. With shipping and transfer fees...I'd be out a shade under 1000 total for the Spikes Tactical ST-15. Not too shabby. Comes with a Pmag too.

I noticed that another post here is about Spikes gear....are these rifles on par with BMC or the Colt 6920? For the money, this seems like an even better deal than the BMC ARs and on other boards, most seem very happy with Spike's customer service and run these ARs pretty hard...harder than I probably will.

Anyone own and run one of these? They sure seem like the most features for the money. Not on the much vaunted "AR Chart" but they hit all the Xed boxes on said chart.

...what say you?

...another AR in the running or skip it?

As my research goes on...my main goal is to get the lowest price AR with the most desirable features. Maybe thats what we're all looking for...LOL!

Spikes Tactical seems to be placing the most top-shelf features into a package that is at a very good price point. Locally, I could not buy a basic Bushy for what Spikes is asking for their ST-15....thats including shipping and transfer fees. The basic Bushy does NOT have nearly the features of the Spikes. Neither does the Stag Model 2, which seems like the best "entry" AR but if spending less than 100 bucks more gets me all the features of the Colt...that makes more sense to me.

I want to save money but don't want something that won't make it through a carbine class if I choose to take one later on.

Spikes makes great items. But their Customer Service is TOP NOTCH as well.. If you are unfortant to have a issue call them, they walked me thru the tweaking of a friends 22lr setup. All of mine were perfect. Even on ARFcom they seem to answer any question people have. I recommend. The top M4gery the 22lr dedicated are theres as is the extended heavy buffer in the 9mm (GREAT investment for those having 9mm issues).

Wow spoolup...you have done with ARs what I do with Mausers and 1911s! LOL They multiply...don't they?

Yeah, I just called and talked to Garrett at Spikes and was pretty impressed with all he told me about their ARs. The more I look...this might be the winner. It appears that the Spikes has all the "correct" features with a Stag/Rock River pricetag. Gotta love that...its what I was looking for all along...I knew somebody made it.

They also come with other nice things like the lifetime warranty and a p-mag.

Now..if that bonus check would get here...
