So I am having some problems finding what I want in an upper
With my new AR project I am looking to build it with a 20 inch barrel and 1/7 twist. I want it mil-spec as well. I've been looking on the internet and found that Daniel Defense and LMT are wanting like 1200 bucks for their uppers...they can suck it, I'm not paying that when I can get a brand new complete Colt rifle for 1300 with the 20 inch barrel and fixed stock. BCM looks to have an interesting upper, but can anybody else suggest a very high quality upper with a 20 inch barrel that is mil-spec or even better?
I'm willing to pay for top quality but I will not be ripped off. Like I was saying 1200 bucks for an upper is just INSANE. Also, with this build I plan on making everything full auto parts with the obvious legal exception of the trigger group which I am thinking I will do an RRA or LMT 2 stage trigger. Suggestions?
Currently this is me in regards to my making this new rifle happen ----->

also, feel free to provide ideas for my build in general. I'm open to suggestions for all of my build to make a top quality rifle. All I have is one sexy sexy lower.

May I ask what this AR will be used for. Just to have? Match's like bull's eye? Plinking at the range? SPR?

While in all reality it will just be a target rifle, but I always have the intention of my guns being for saving my life if necessary, shtf scenarios, etc. I want a 1/7 twist to be able to handle the heavier grain stuff. Essentially like I was saying I want this to be mil spec or better. I want it to be as close to what the military uses with the exception of it being semi auto in the trigger group

BCM's products are at the very least as good as "milspec". Check out ar15.com, m4carbine.net, lightfighter.net, weaponevolution.com - particularly look for posts by Pat Rogers where he talks about the T&E guns he uses in his classes (and they get run HARD in his classes) that have well in excess of 10k rounds through them and still run like tops.
Their uppers, lowers, and BCG's are all top of the line.

I'm pretty sure that LMT makes rifles for the military. The DD and LMT uppers I've seen have all been right at 1k or less.
AIM surplus has DDXV uppers for 850, complete or 1k for complete upper and the Omega 7.0 rail.
Check out G and R tactical he has some nice BCM uppers starting at 550 minus the BCG.
BTW these are all 16" uppers. Last M16A4 upper I saw which was a Colt was well over 1400...

For what you want BCM is the best but you already know about them.
